Today was my dad’s birthday, 4th of July. Thank you dad for your example. He gave his life in service to this great country for us, and that has special meaning to me a fellow veteran. I believe we live in a world that increasingly fewer understand how the sacrifices of national blood and treasure, and the spirit and values of those who came before us, is the reason the USA became what we are today. It just didn’t happen, we weren’t just lucky. We were lucky however, to have forefathers that were passionate, had a bright, powerful, and hopeful vision, and they made sacrifices to realize that vision. Today this “millennial” runner warmed my heart and spirit, seeing our nation’s colors in the warm breezy sunrise. I am hopeful, very hopeful. I hope all celebrate today and each day with their family and close friends in happiness, and look for moments throughout the year to help make this country even better, and brighter for our kids.
