How a Rainy Day Wedding Was Still Perfect

Some days the best made plans go right out the window, or should we say are dampened from the heavens above. I remember this one wedding couple’s experience like it was yesterday. This day an outdoor wedding was greeted unexpectedly by mother nature. That’s exactly what happened to the bride, but you would have never guessed there was a change of plans at the very last second.  The wedding ceremony continued and the couple was joyfully married without any dampened spirits! The bride was awesome, she had a plan “B,” and “C” too I suspect, and it surely didn’t happen without a little forethought.

If you are a newly engaged bride-to-be, I suspect you are already in high gear with the checklists, and a “helpful” planning crew that is all too willing to pass-along ideas. While you may not be planning an outdoor wedding, the number and variety of things to tend to in the coming months won’t seem any less. I say all this to reinforce a notion I’m sure you have, surround yourself with experienced people that you can bounce ideas off, and provide you additional ones as well. They can be so helpful in making your day beautiful and special, and they are there too to help ensure it all works as planned. Experienced professionals work to ensure what you planned and want, actually happens that way.

So for the ones helping you the day of the wedding, the wedding planner, florist, facilities personnel, reception help, caterer, DJ and yes, the photographer, get to know them, meet with them, and ensure you go into this most wonderful period with the confidence and excitement that will carry you happily to your wedding day! This bride did, and with the assurances of good people around her, great planning, and a little magic, you would never have known it poured all day long. Yes, ask about the magic, there are ways to ensure everything can occur exactly the way you want it. I wish you the best in your planning!

Yes, the bride pulled out matching umbrellas before mother nature could drop a sprinkle on us.
